There is a total of 30 playable characters consisting of the major heroes and villains from both Marvel and Capcom universes. The offline mode includes a Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Mission Mode, Training Mode, Versus Player 2 and CPU and Collection Mode, whereas the online mode features ranked and casual matches including leader boards and an eight-player lobby. This enables the players to have a better offensive and defensive strategy and form combos accordingly.
A new feature available in this instalment is that players have an ‘active switch’ feature which lets you switch characters even during attack animations or in mid-air. The game is almost similar to their traditional game series involving 2D fighting in which players are allowed choose characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes both and take part in two-on-two tag-team battles. The game was released during September 19-21, 2017 for Europe, North America and Japan. It has been released for Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is a fighting-based game and has both single and multi-player modes.
